Speaking test through video-call

We have introduced the video-call Speaking Test through Zoom to provide candidates with a more comfortable face-to-face Speaking test experience. Candidates can take the Speaking test at the test center through a high quality video call with an interviewer.

  • A qualified and professional examiner will conduct the Speaking test in real time through a video call system in a two-way interactive format.

  • The test is conducted with the same content, question format, scoring criteria, time allocation, and security checks as a traditional face-to-face Speaking test with an interviewer.

Please note that this is just the default setting and it could change due to emergency situations.

How the Video-Call Speaking Test will be conducted

  • The test center staff will take you to the Speaking test room and check your ID (passport).

  • After you are seated, the test center staff will adjust the screen and do a voice check with you. Once the checks are done and you are ready, the staff will leave the room.

  • Through a high-quality video call system with the examiner in another room, you will be able to take the test in the same way as a regular Speaking test.

  • Due to a stable internet connection, you will be able to interact with the examiner as if you were in the same room with him/her, with no distractions and good sound quality.

  • In Part 2 of the Speaking test, you can use a writing tool to take notes. You will not be allowed to use any writing tools in the other two parts.
