Check your IELTS results

Getting your IELTS results is easy. If you take IELTS on a computer, will get your results within 3 to 5 days of sitting your test. Or if you choose to sit a paper-based test, your results will be available 13 days after your test.

Your results are reported as band scores which range from a band 0 to a band 9, with each band corresponding to a level of English-language proficiency. You will get an overall band score, as well as one for each part of the test - Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

• IELTS on Computer (test day after December 6, 2023 in Tokyo or December 5, 2023 in Osaka)

• IELTS on Computer (test day before December 6, 2023 in Tokyo or December 5, 2023 in Osaka)

• IELTS on Paper

After the results are available online, the test center will issue and send your Test Report Form as an official result, so it will take about 1-3 days longer to arrive at your home in Japan. If you are in a hurry, please contact the test center for an express delivery service (extra charge required). If you took IELTS on a computer (after December 6, 2023, in Tokyo or December 5, 2023, in Osaka), you can download TRF from your result page, download it online .

If the target score in one skill is not reached, the test taker will now be able to retake only one skill within 60 days of the test date if you have taken the IELTS on computer at a specific test centre. For more information, please click here▶

If you are not happy with your IELTS results, you can request a remark (Enquiry on Results) within 6 weeks of your test date. This process takes between 2 and 21 days, and if your band scores change, you will get a refund on the fee associated with requesting a remark. For more information, please click here▶
